Eolic Energy

Eolic energy is obtained from the wind, that is to say by harnessing the kinetic energy generated by wind currents.

Nowadays, eolic energy is in constant growth, which demonstrates that renewable energies are transforming the traditional energy panorama. A 25 Mw wind farm, operating 2,400 equivalent hours, would avoid releasing 57,600 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, and many other harmful particles (in comparison with coal burning in a conventional thermoelectric plant) meaning that the advantages over other types of energy are obvious.

Spain is the leading country as regards the number of wind-driven generators installed, due largely to the institutional support that has led to favourable legislation and to research into new, more efficient win-driven generators with greater energy capacity. The future is marked by the objective established by the P.R.E. (Plan for Renewable Energy) to reach 20,155 MW per year by 2010, which will generate 45,500 GWh of electricity per year.

IBEREN RENOVABLES and wind power activity

The company carries out important work in setting up wind farms, seeking out locations worldwide.

Various wind farms have been purchased in different stages of processing in Castilla y León (Spain) and steps are also being taken with other promoters to carry out joint promotion.

IBEREN RENOVABLES will continue to locate sites for wind farms, establishing contact with companies promoting this energy in other countries.

At the present moment, the wind farms purchased are at the promotional stage.
